This tour is one of the favorites in Cusco. This colorful mountain is part of the Vilcanota mountain range. It is located south of Cusco at 5,200 meters (17,000 feet) above sea level.

Ideal for lovers of hiking and Andean nature. This mountain was discovered in 2016 and since then it has become the favorite of many tourists.

The color of the Apu Vinicunca is due to a geological formation accumulated over time by the mixture of marine, lake and river elements. This encounter of minerals carried away by the waters of the mountain range, the winds and humidity, has caused the oxidation of the place and has made the mountain acquire that magical diversity of shades.

This trip will also take you through Andean villages and overlooking the imposing Ausangate snow-capped mountain that dominates the South of Cusco. Together with our guide you will tour this colorful mountain and appreciate all its splendor.

Full DayCusco - Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain

We will start our adventure very early in the morning. We will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco in our private transport. We will take you through the Southern Valley of Cusco to the town of Cusipata. Here we will stop to enjoy a delicious breakfast.

We will continue our transfer until the start of the hike. It lasts about an hour.

Upon arrival at the start our guide will give you a safety talk before starting the hike. Here you can rent a horse if you don’t want to walk, making sure to get a fixed price.

After starting to walk we will be able to appreciate Andean communities with Andean farms and animals such as alpacas and llamas.

When you reach the top of the mountain with our guide you will tour the mountain. You will also be given scopes of the daily life of the locals and intact customs that they still preserve.

If you want to walk a little more you can go and enjoy the Red Valley. It is located apocos metris of the Vinicunca Mountain.

After enjoying this beautiful view, we will descend to the starting point of the hike where our transport will be waiting for you to transport you to Cusco.
