The Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain tour is another of the most popular attractions in Cusco, designed for those travelers who are not interested in climbing the mountain.
This tour is ideal for those travelers who are not interested in long hikes but who enjoy the Andean and colorful landscapes.
The Rainbow Mountain Palccoyo is located south of the Cusco Valley at an altitude of 4,900 meters. We recommend booking this tour from April to November (dry season in Cusco) to enjoy the beautiful view offered by this mountain.
We strongly recommend you to spend a few days in Cusco or acclimatize to avoid altitude sickness. You can take our Cusco City Tour.
If you are a lover of hiking and would like to see more of Andean life, take a look at our Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain Cusco Tour.

Our adventure starts very early in the morning. We will pick you up from your accommodation in our private transport. We will take you through the southern Valley of Cusco to the town of Checacupe.
Checacupe is a small colonial town that houses a colonial church and a rope bridge that was built by ancient civilizations similar to Q’eswachaka.
Here you can buy items you need to start the walk.We will start with a mild journey through remote communities that preserve ancient traditions and cultures and pass from generation to generation. You will also be able to appreciate the Stone Forest.
Upon reaching the top of the mountain we will be able to see more closely the imposing Apu Ausangate. Together with our guide we tour the mountain and we will delight ourselves with the beautiful landscape that surrounds this colorful mountain.
After this unique experience we will start the walk back to the parking lot. Here our transport will be waiting for us to take us back to the town of Checacupe.
Here we will enjoy a delicious typical Andean lunch in the area. Finally we will return to the city of Cusco.
