Tour Details

The Inca Trail or Network of paths from Tahuantinsuyo to Machu Picchu is a hiking route. Very famous among tourists. Ideal for lovers of nature, archaeological sites and the mysticism of this path.

This path takes you to different Andean environments. It passes through a cloud forest, the Andean tundra, settlements, tunnels and Inca ruins that are located along this road. This trail ends with a wonderful panoramic view of the citadel at the Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol.

The four-day Inca Trail is a route of approximately 48 km. Together with our guide you will discover the different techniques that the Incas used to make constructions on the edge of the precipice. You will also see varied flora and fauna that this road has.

To make this tour we recommend you to be in good physical condition.

Day 1Cusco - KM82 - Llactapata - Wayllabamba

Early in the morning our private transport will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco. We will take you through the Sacred Valley of the Incas to the train station in Ollantaytambo.

Here you will board a train that will take you for two hours to KM 82. The train trip is a colorful journey through Andean landscapes to the starting point of the hike.

After passing a check we will visit some archaeological sites. We will walk along the banks of the Urubamba River until we reach Miskay. A small town where we will stop for lunch.

We will continue our hike with an ascent to a small plateau. Here you can appreciate the beautiful Andean landscape and the archaeological site of Llactapata.

After touring this place with our guide we will go to Wayllabamba. This will be the place where we will spend the night in a small camp. Our chefs will delight you with a delicious comforting dinner.

Day 2Wayllabamba - Ayapata - Pacaymayu

After a comfortable night we will wake you up with a delicious breakfast. We will continue walking for about an hour to the Ayapata Valley.

On the way you will be able to appreciate beautiful landscapes, trails and a peculiar bridge that will immerse us in a cloud forest.

After our hike you will reach the highest point, the Warmihuañusca Pass. Its name comes from the Quechua meaning “when the woman dies”.

This pass offers beautiful views of this valley, variety of birds and abundant flora. Then we will start the descent to have lunch.

We will continue the walk to the Pacaymayu River Road. This place will be our second place to spend the night. After a delicious meal we will rest in a comfortable tent.

Day 3Pacaymayu - Runkuracay - Sayaqmarca - Phuyupatamarca - Wiñayhuayna

Early in the morning you will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will continue our walk to the archaeological site of Runkuracay. This site has the peculiarity of having the shape of a semicircle.

After touring this site with our guide we will continue our walk. We will drive to the archaeological site of Sayaqmarca. This enclosure is built on the edge of a ravine.

Finally we will continue our hike to Wiñayhuayna. Together with our guide we will visit this amazing archaeological site.

This will be our ultimate camping spot. After a delicious dinner you will rest in comfortable tents.

Day 4Wiñayhuayna - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Early in the morning we will enjoy a last breakfast. We will continue our walk until we reach the Inti Punku or Puerta del Sol. This place offers a panoramic view of the Inca citadel, Machu Picchu.

Here we will enjoy the sunrise, the first rays of light that reach the great Inca fortress. You will enjoy this unique and unmissable event.

We will descend to the citadel. You will do a tour with our guide, who will take you around the citadel. The tour lasts two hours. Then you will have free time to tour the citadel on your own. If you have booked a hike to Machu Picchu or the Huayna Picchu Mountain, our guide will direct you to the entrance.

Finally we will get off by bus to the town of Aguas Calientes where we will take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Here our transport will be waiting for you to take you to Cusco.
