Tour Details

Huchuy Qosqo located at more than 3550 meters above sea level. It was ordered to be built by the Inca Wiracocha as a center to relax and get away from the empire during his old age.

Huchuy Qosqo means “Small town”, but other names are also attributed to it that mean “from where the rays are observed”. This unique name is due to the fact that it is located 800 meters above the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Due to its high altitude this place offers a fascinating light and sound show at night. Lightning and thunder descend from the sky and crash on its ground. In addition you can appreciate beautiful views of the valley, the beauty of the snowy Pitusiray and the village of Calca.

The archaeological site of Huchuy Qosqo demonstrates once again the advanced construction technology used by the Incas. His impressive works of topographic modification in the andeneria. Building them on the edge of precipices and ravines over the Vilcanota Valley. You will also find architectural structures made of stone and adobe with a fine finish.

In addition, these structures are distributed very similar to the city of Cusco, which is why it used to be called “Little Cusco”. Even today this whole ensemble supports schismatic movements.

So if you are a lover of nature, Inca history and places full of mystery, this place is for you. You will discover the fascinating construction of the Incas.
