Tour Details

Cachicata is a small remote town that houses the Inca Quarry in its territory. This place was destined for the carving of red granite blocks that would later serve for the construction of temples or palaces of the Inca Empire.

Many of the archaeological sites near this place were built with these materials. This site is a witness to the advanced technology that the Incas used. In addition, it shows the work left half-finished at the arrival of the invaders.

This tour will take you to know an important part of the Inca archaeological sites. He will know more about the work that the Incas did and will leave you with uncertainty about how they achieved such precision and how they transported their materials to different areas of their empire.

Day 1Cusco - Racca - Soqma - Korimarca

Early in the morning we will pick you up from your accommodation in Cusco in our private transport. We will take you through the Sacred Valley to the community of Racca. The tour takes about two hours. Here we will visit the Church of Ñaupa. This church is an ancient Inca sanctuary. It is a place full of mystery since the function that this place fulfilled is not yet discovered.

We will continue our walk until we reach the community of Soqma. After walking two hours we will stop to enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by our chefs.

After lunch we can interact with some inhabitants of this village. The people are very friendly and eager to share their traditions and culture and even the daily life they lead.

We will continue the hike until we reach the Perolniyoc waterfall. This place allows us to see the Soqma Valley in all its splendor and snow-covered mountains.

Finally we will walk to the village of Korimarca. This will be the place where we will camp in comfortable tents.

Day 2Korimarca - Intipunku - Choquetarpo

We will wake you up with a delicious breakfast. We will continue the tour with a hike up arruba hill for four hours. We will arrive at the Charkahuaylla Pass. Here you can see stunning views of the Sacred Valley and the entire landscape that surrounds it.

We will continue walking to Lake Marcacocha. Here we will make a stop to enjoy a delicious lunch.

After the well-deserved rest we will continue the hike up the Apu Buena Negra Mountain. Upon reaching the top we will continue with a descent to the Intipunku. An imposing entrance overlooking Veronica Mountain.

Finally we will walk for a few minutes to Choquetarpo. This will be the place where we will camp.

In Ollantaytambo you will take a train that will take you to the town of Aguas Calientes. Upon arrival you will be accommodated in a comfortable room.

Finally in the evening we will meet for dinner.

Day 3Choquetarpo - Cachicata - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

We will wake you up with a delicious breakfast with a breathtaking view of the sunrise. We will continue walking for three hours to the Cachicata Quarry. Together with our guide you will tour the place and learn more about this impressive carving technique used by the Incas.

Then we will descend to the community of Cachicata. Here we will enjoy a delicious lunch. We will also be able to interact with some inhabitants of this community.

After this wonderful meeting you will board our private transport. We will take you to Ollantaytambo. Here you can tour the city a little and if you want to have dinner.

Finally we will take you to the train station. Here you will take a train that will take you to the town of Aguas Calientes.

When you arrive at the town of Aguas Calientes our staff will be waiting for you. After dropping you off at your accommodation you will have free time for you to explore the village. This town is famous for the hot springs it has. Considered thermomedicinal.

Day 4Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Cusco

Early in the morning the hotel staff will give you a breakfast. Then we will transfer you to the bus station. Here you will board the bus that will take you to the citadel of Machu Picchu.

When you arrive at the entrance of the citadel you will verify your documents. After passing the control we will start our tour. Together with our guide we will tour the entire citadel. You will know more about this place and the function it fulfilled within the Inca Empire.

After touring the citadel you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own. We recommend walking to the Inti Punku which offers a breathtaking view of the entire citadel. If you have booked a hike to Machu Picchu or the Huayna Picchu Mountain, our guide will direct you to the entrance.

After enjoying this wonder we will return to Aguas Calientes. Board the bus back to the village. Upon arrival you will have free time so you can have lunch or learn more about this rustic village.

Later you will board the train that will take you back to Ollantaytambo. Here our private transport will be waiting for you to take you back to Cusco.
